Retailers, get your red, white, and blue sparklers ready – the Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year and consumers are feeling pretty patriotic. In fact, over 164 million Americans will celebrate our independence this year. Pam Goodfellow, consumer insights director at BIGinsight, a consumer-centric information portal, notes “Great summer weather and a day off from work will help put Americans in high spirits this Fourth of July.” High spirits indeed – and eager to open wallets – an explosive opportunity for retailers looking to attract holiday shoppers.
