Recruiting Process

Bringing a new employee on board is a team effort and decision. We want to make sure you fit the team and the team fits you.

We know how much work and thought goes into looking good on paper, so we take our time to read-through, absorb, and review every application.


If we find your qualifications are in line with what we’re looking for, a phone screening is held to discuss the role, answer initial questions and get a feel for your experience.


Whether it’s a preliminary chat or a larger final interview, you’ll interview with potential colleagues (and dare we say, future friends) and your hiring manager.

What can I expect throughout the interview process?
Most interviews follow the standard process shown above: a recruiter phone call and hiring manager interview, followed by a team interview. Based on the role or department, there may be additional steps such as a skill-based assessment, coding exercise, or a presentation—expect your recruiter to provide a detailed preview of the interview process for the role in consideration. All Basis Technologies employees are currently working remotely, therefore, the interview process will be virtual through Microsoft Teams. The goal of all of our interviews is to get to know you and allow you to get to know Basis Technologies! No riddles, trick questions, or unnecessary stress!
How long does it take to hear back about next steps after I apply to a role?
Part of Basis Technologies’ people philosophy is to “hire slow.” We’re trying to find the best fit for our teams and for you. We’d love to give you a specific timeline, but the truth is, we can’t. We can promise that no matter what, you will hear back from us with a decision regarding your application. We know that waiting is hard, so thank you in advance for your patience.
What if I want to be considered for more than one position at the same time?
You can apply to multiple positions at the same time. Our applicant system allows us to track your progress in all applications.
What if I don’t see an open role that fits my skillset?
Check out the “Upcoming Opportunities” section on our job site. If you see a role there that might be a future fit, please apply. If nothing catches your eye, please continue to check back on our Careers site, as we post new roles frequently.
How do the demographic questions on the application and diversity survey affect my application status?
They absolutely do not! Any demographic questions are completely voluntary and are always kept separate from your application and candidate profile with Basis Technologies. We use self-identifying demographic data about our applicants to better inform our diversity and inclusion initiatives, progress, benefits, and perks.
How should I prepare for an interview at Basis Technologies?

How do I indicate what gender pronouns I prefer?
Let us know your pronouns on the application or during the recruiter screen. We’ll be sure to pass them along to the team. We want to get them right!
How long does it take to receive a decision following a team interview?
Our hiring teams do their very best to get back to every candidate who has met with the team within three to five business days, however, busy weeks do happen (we are in the AdTech industry after all)! If you don’t hear back from us right away, please don’t hesitate to follow up with your recruiter!
What is your stance on remote work?
Basis Technologies is committed to maintaining a culture where we trust our employees to do their best work. We believe results matter more than where they are produced. Currently, we offer our employees choice and flexibility on whether they’d like to work in one of our office locations, work completely remotely, or a hybrid of the two. These arrangements vary based on your situation as well as the needs of the team and role. We encourage you to discuss the work location needs around the role you’re interviewing for with the recruiter and hiring manager.
