Grid Management Library (GML) Toolset
Grid Management Library (GML) Toolset comprises:

  • GML with dramatically improved performance. The GML is a set of public programs that help a programmer use a grid interface. The GML eliminates the need for a programmer to use SENDMSG functions and also provides interpretation and overall management of grid Notify events. You don't have to change any of your existing code that already uses the GML.

  • Attached File Mode includes programs that can "attach" to a data file and NOT read into memory all of the keys, just the ones requested for display. Allows for fast-access grid control of very large databases.

  • File Maintenance Utility is actually a collection of programs. You can read BASIS Data Dictionaries or templates and access data files with all the power of the GML at the click of a mouse. You can also create customized grid lookup programs that are easily called from the application. Lookup programs can be created to return selected records, selected keys or even key sets when multiple records are selected. This last option allows a developer to quickly create programs to access, move or delete multiple records without having to write a unique routine.

OpenBasic MKEYED Conversion Help
BASIS has always focused on delivering robust, competitive functionality within its products, but that functionality is most easily delivered to code written in our language. We spend a great deal of time and effort to ease the transition of an application from another language into ours.

It is in this vein that we have purchased a set of utility programs that make the conversion of OpenBasic applications to BBx much easier. In addition to downloading them here, you can also find these programs and the respective documentation included free in our "convert" directory on the product CD.
