RELEASE NOTES
The release notes document contains new features, product notes, 
known issues and support information. Please review this file,
relnotes.txt, located in your BASIS product directory.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
The installation guide contains comprehensive installation
and licensing instructions. Please review this file, install.txt,
located in your BASIS product directory.

CD-ROM MANUAL
If you received this product on CD-ROM, the online manual can be
viewed or printed with either Internet Explorer (4.0 or above) or 
the Netscape Navigator (4.0 or above) under UNIX or Microsoft 
Windows. Internet Explorer performs much faster so it is the 
preferred browser. Refer to the readme.txt file on the CD-ROM for 
more information.

This online documentation may also be viewed from the BASIS Web
site http://www.basis.com/devtools/documentation/index.html

Note: The HTML documentation is dynamically generated. Therefore, 
bookmarks created for previous versions are likely to fail because
the individual HTML filenames may differ.

FLEXLM END USER MANUAL
Included in our online manual is the FLEXlm End User Manual. This
manual contains valuable information about our License Manager, 
including utilities that monitor the status of the BASIS License
Manager.

2. OPERATING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
=================================================================

===NOVELL CLIENT KIT REQUIREMENTS===

Novell's Client Kit software is required for Visual PRO/5 for
Novell NetWare. The versions tested on this release of Visual
PRO/5 are v3.31 for Windows 98 and v4.81 for Windows NT
and 2000.  These Client Kits are available for downloaded
at http://www.novell.com

Microsoft's Novell Client Kit is not currently supported. 

===LAPTOP REQUIREMENTS===

We strongly suggest you remove your PCMCIA network interface card
and remove your laptop from its docking station during Visual 
PRO/5 license registration. We suggest that you node lock your 
Visual PRO/5 License to your hard drive to prevent possible 
problems with your license file being locked to a specific network
card.

===WINDOWS NT REQUIREMENTS===

On Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0, the Setup program will exit if the
appropriate Service Pack has not been installed on the target 
machine. These Service Packs are available from the Microsoft FTP
site:

Users outside the United States can refer to a list of alternative
code pages in the /bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes directory. 
Users within the United States can follow the directions below.

Windows NT 3.51 Service Pack 5 ---

Select the i386 directory and the SP5_351I.EXE file, which is 
compressed to approximately 13 MB.

NOTE: Before installing Visual PRO/5 on Windows NT 4.0, ensure 
that you have privileges that allow you to create directories on 
the designated drive and add files, and create Program folders and
shortcuts that are accessible from the Start menu.
