BASIS International Ltd. announces the release of version 7.10 for BBj®, the newest generation of BBx®.
This release addresses several reported bugs and suggested enhancements. For a list of resolved QA memos, go to the online file.
This maintenance release includes a preview of new features under development now and fully supported in BBj 8.0. They are available for testing in the development build. Subscribe to the bbj-developer list for the latest news on the daily progress of the BASIS development team.
New BBj 8.0 Preview Features:
Language/Interpreter
• The ability to specify that PDF documents render using images instead of fonts
Database Management
• MEDIAN and STDDEV (standard deviation) scalar functions to the SQL engine
• Regular expression support to the SQL engine; REGEXP keyword is similar to the LIKE keyword except that the provided string is a regular expression pattern
