BASIS International Ltd. announces the release of BBj® 4.03. In addition, this version of BBj includes over 130 bug fixes and
the following BBj 5.0 preview features:
Print preview - three new preview modes
- MAXIMIZE= maximizes the print preview window
- STYLE= selects preview format of page width, page height, and two pages
- ZOOM= specifies the amount of zoom or reduction
SQL enhancements - run an analysis operation, outside of the Enterprise Manager, on the currently connected database
using SQL - Analyze Database or on a specified table using SQL - Analyze Table. These verbs allow the BASIS Database to
attempt to optimize data access for SQL queries against multi-keyed, multi-segmented BASIS databases, especially those
databases that are non-normalized.
BBj 4.03 is the last scheduled maintenance release before the release of BBj 5.0, due for distribution at the end of the first
quarter 2005. Such enhancements to BBj as JVM 5.0 support, new BBjGrid methods, performance gains from SysGUI refactoring, the
enhanced BASIS IDE with the new FormBuilder and code completion functionality; and the formal support of all the features
previewed in BBj 4.01, 4.02, and 4.03, make 5.0 a much-anticipated release. Watch for the upcoming announcement!
