BASIS International Ltd. announces the release of Visual PRO/5® maintenance release 5.01. This release includes the following
new and enhanced features:
Enhancements
- Certified on Windows XP Service Pack II
- Adds bitmap support to regular button controls
- Adds new modes to the SQLOPEN verb to override the DICTIONARY and DATA paths in config.tpm files, eliminating the need for
multiple config.tpm files for multiple data sets
- Adds accessibility to SQL_VARBINARY and SQL_LONGVARBINARY type columns
- Enhances the mkrecover utility to handle encrypted files
- Updates _browse to show encrypted files
- Updates Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) shared libraries to the latest version for increased security
General Maintenance
- Fixes INPUTE/INPUTN controls to render correctly with Microsoft ClearType
- Fixes a memory leak when using Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)
- Fixes ISZ=-1 to now open a read-only file
- Fixes C_ODBC_DESCRIBECOL to now return valid length values for templated fields
- Sets a max column size limit on SQL ODBC queries of 32767 to produce a valid template
