In anticipation of the release of BASIS products scheduled for March 29, 2004, BASIS now ships a new version of the BASIS Product License which works with the current revisions and version 4.0 of BBj® and version 5.0 of PRO/5® and Visual PRO/5®. Specifically, a customer purchasing a license today can upgrade to the March release of BASIS products without buying or registering another license. In addition, this license maintains backwards compatibility with all previous versions of BBj as well as the current version of PRO/5.

BBj 4.0 enhancements include Data Bound Controls, Form Printing, and BBj RecordSets, to name a few. This release also contains improvements to the BASIS IDE for viewing data files and managing data dictionaries.

PRO/5 5.0 includes many new security features such as data encryption for fields and files. Additionally, the much-anticipated SSL encryption is available for communication between client and server, and for all socket communication between interpreters and third party applications.

The availability of this new Product License also makes it possible for customers to upgrade immediately all licenses covered under the SAM Plan contracts active at the time of the March release.
