A new search tool is now available on the BASIS web site making it much faster and easier to locate the specific information you are looking for. This tool allows the selection of searching the following options:

• Whole Site (including Documentation and Knowledge Base)
• Site only (less the Documentation and Knowledge base)
• Documentation
• Knowledge Base

Choosing specific areas to search narrows the results returned by your search, which means less information to wade through. The results page also includes links at the top for help and for interpreting the search results.

For instance, let's say you are looking for any new information that's available about the BBj® Enterprise Manager and want to search the online documentation. This streamlined type of searching is now possible. Just select "Documentation" from the search pull down menu, type in a phrase or keyword and hit "Go." A list of results sorted by relevancy from the search will be displayed, including short descriptions. Clicking on the link provided will take you to the place in the documentation you were searching for. This link can be used to let others know about documentation, too. Just e-mail the link to someone else who might be interested!

Clicking on the cached version of the search will have the searched words highlighted in different colors, which is a nice feature because you can see at a glance where in the document the queried words appear. See the cached search result provided in the screenshot below:

In the first quarter of 2002, BASIS International was one of 40 distinguished companies to participate in the Sun Solutions CD. Each quarter, Sun produces this CD, which offers the latest in trial software or product demos. Sun distributed more than 100,000 copies of the CD, which were mailed to the Sun Customer database. It was also handed out to thousands of attendees at the JavaONE conference in San Francisco.

BASIS considers our participation in the Sun Solutions CD to be a good investment. It's an excellent way to get the BASIS name out. BASIS has spent several years creating a comprehensive development toolset that should be a viable candidate for any serious business application project.
