I would like to thank all our loyal BASIS customers for helping make 1999 the best year ever for BASIS. Thanks to you, our customers, our revenue was the highest since the company was formed in 1985. In 1999, we introduced significant enhancements to all our products, including
At our recent technical conference, TechCon99, we introduced our next major product line, BBj, to much excitement among conference participants. BBj delivers on the BASIS promise of platform independence, enabling your GUI applications to run on Microsoft Windows, UNIX and in a Web browser. This year, many of our customers confirmed that it is easier to migrate from PRO/5 to Visual PRO/5 than to rewrite an existing application. We expect many more developers to migrate to Visual PRO/5 in 2000. Once in Visual PRO/5, the market for these applications will be dramatically expanded. Visual PRO/5 applications will be able to move to BBj and, therefore, run on many more platforms. These applications or key portions of them will be able to run in a Web browser to meet the demands of e-business. 1999 was a great year at BASIS. 2000 will be even better, as we continue our commitment to provide you, our customers, with the tools you need to create the most cost-effective enterprise solutions for your customers. George Hight, President
